Essex-based textile artist, Rosie Holttum creates hand-made textile art pieces inspired by controversial and current topics. Working in a painterly and fine art manner, translating topics onto cloth has been an enjoyable challenge, hugely influenced by colour and more recently, climate change. Holttum often extracts ideas from photographs, turning them into initial paintings and drawings, to encourage a different approach to textile art. After graduating from The University for the Creative Arts in Farnham with a degree in Textiles for Fashion and Interiors, she has gained skills in hand-dying, hand-printing and colour mixing, paying particular attention to detail.
